Foundation Trust complaints

Where a complainant is unhappy with the outcome of any investigation of their complaint by an NHS Foundation Trust, or the NHS Foundation Trust has no local complaints procedure in place, a request to the Healthcare Commission for independent review must be made within 6 months. Where that is not possible, it must be as soon as reasonably practicable after the date on which a response was sent to the complainant by the Foundation Trust.

The NHS Foundation Trust has 2 days to notify Monitor (the Independent Regulator) and invite its views on the complaint.
