ICAS Resource: how to use this site
(click for explanations)

The top buttons on the page contain all the relevant resources you are likely to need at different stages of the complaints journey, as well as useful websites and links. Each of the top buttons has its own symbol – when you see that symbol on any page in the site, you will know you are being linked to a relevant resource.

If you place you cursor over the menu, the menu will expand and all you have to do is click your mouse once your cursor is on the page you wish to open.

There is a 'breadcrumb trail' of links beneath each main page graphic that shows at a glance where you are within each section. Like breadcrumbs, this serves as a path to show how you came to the page you are on, and how you can get back to where you started. With the exception of the page you are visiting, each page in the breadcrumb trail links you back to that location.

To go back to a previous page either use the “breadcrumb trail” or the BACK button on your browser.

How to navigate the site
Each button has a series of drop down menus. As you move your cursor over an item, click to go to that link. If the link has a black arrow at the end of the item, that means there are further drop down menus – just move the cursor across in the direction the black arrow points to.

The complaints journey
The last button on the right journey contains the main stages of the complaints journey and any choices for your next step.
Each section of the complaints journey is colour coded to indicate which section you are in. If there is no link to the next page then you have arrived at a cul-de-sac. You must make your choice from the options from the top on the page or return to the previously visited page.
There are icons within the text that alert you to key questions or more information they also link to relevant external organisations, directives or legislation.

Links are in blue. If the link is an external one i.e. the information provided is from a web based resource other than this one, a new full-size window will 'pop-up' with that site's information. Wherever possible we have put those links within 'Link point' boxes, if not, an 'external link' message is shown. When you have finished reading simply close that window and you can the continue your journey within this site in your original window.
To ensure that you have the most up-to-date information each page is date-stamped in the bottom left hand corner, please compare and check this date regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes to the content.

Search facility
The search box is at the top-right of each screen. To find information quickly, please type out the key words in the search box and click search. The search function will retrieve pages that meet your search criteria and list them for you starting with the best match.
Our What’s new section will show all the latest additions to the site and the date they were posted if appropriate.

Accessibility
We comply with the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C's) Level A guidelines for accessibility and we are committed to improving.

Printing pages
Some users may experience printing problems. To minimise these problems, change your page orientation to 'landscape' through the 'page set-up' option on the file menu. Printing from the file menu, rather than the icon, may also help.
